What did I do
One of the most meaningful and impactful projects I had the opportunity to co-create and lead was a community-driven initiative called *For the Love of the V*, a feminine care product drive aimed at supporting individuals in need. Over the span of two years, a group of dedicated women, alongside local storefronts, collected essential hygiene items—tampons, pads, deodorants, and socks—during a three-month collection period. The goal was to provide critical resources to individuals who may not have access to these basic necessities. At the end of each drive, we donated the collected products to local shelters and hosted finale events in Washington, D.C., and Baltimore. During these events, we distributed unisex care kits and served hot lunches to individuals experiencing homelessness and those in need within the community.
In my role as the project organizer, designer, and advertiser, I played a key part in bringing this initiative to life. I was responsible for designing both print and digital materials to raise awareness and drive participation. These materials were strategically circulated through social media platforms and displayed in eight local storefronts to engage the public and encourage donations. My efforts included creating visually compelling graphics, managing advertising campaigns, and coordinating with local businesses to ensure that the initiative was effectively promoted. Through this collaboration, we successfully collected over 18,000 care products and distributed more than 350 lunches, making a significant impact on the lives of many individuals in need. The success of *For the Love of the V* stands as a testament to the power of community, teamwork, and a shared commitment to making a positive difference.
